Stick and Poke.

I really really love tattoos. 

But I'm on a low budget and not able to spend hundreds every month,

 to get the tattoo ideas I have done in a real studio.

So one day I decided to try it out myself and the little 'x' on my upper wrist was born. 

It doesn't really have any meaning, I just liked the look of it. 

I didn't know anything about "stick and poke" then, I just did it because a) I was bored and 

b) I wanted to get more tattoos. (Sounds pretty dumb...) 

I was amazed how easy it was and really liked the aesthetics, because the stick and pokes sure do look different then a "normal" tattoo. 

I then did the one on my toe. It took me two "sessions" because I wasn't happy with the design after the first one. In-between those I learned about stick and poke and how many people are actually doing it! (Just search for stick and poke on tumblr and look at all that amazing work!)

I switched from just my sewing needle to a DIY construction made out of a needle, a pencil and some thread. (no more hand cramps!!)

After that I also tattooed my left pinky, my Mom's ankle (yes, my mom supports my crazy ideas) and today I did this little hook on a friend. 

I know this whole thing can be very dangerous, but I keep everything sterilized and clean and never had any problems. 

I just like to be able to control what happens to my body (and what stays there....forever.)
